ZVVZ USK Prague are saying good-bye to one American and hello to another as they attempt to beat Gambrinus Sika Brno to the Czech title.
Prague, who last week signed Ieva Kublina from TTT Riga, have plucked another from the Latvian top flight with Nykesha Sales of SK Cesis putting pen-to-paper on a deal that will see her finish the campaign in the Czech Republic.
Sales, a EuroLeague Women all-star in 2008, played on the Gambrinus team that captured the 2006 European crown.
Prague say that former USA international Swin Cash, who is in her first season with the club, has been bothered by back problems and is to return to America.
"We hired Nykesha for the FIBA EuroCup (Women) action, however, after we didn`t reach Eighth-Finals, Nykesha is just too expensive for the Latvian league," said SK Cesis president Krisjanis Klavins.
"We met late Sunday night and parted as a friends.
"Instead of Sales, we will add WNBA 2008 Draft Top 10 player Tamera Young from Atlanta Dream.
"She will join us before the crucial encounter with TTT Riga on February 6."
Prague are in Russia where they are to meet two-time defending champions Spartak Moscow Region in the EuroLeague Women play-offs.
Sales will not play against Spartak and is only due in Prague at the start of February.
She, meanwhile, was asked if she planned to return to the WNBA once the Czech season draws to a close.
"I don`t know yet if I will play for Connecticut Sun this summer," Nykesha Sales said to eSports.lv on Sunday.
No one is giving Prague much of a chance to upset Spartak Moscow Region but the Czech club have won two of their three meetings with archrivals and EuroLeague hopefuls Gambrinus Brno in the Czech league this season.
