USK Praha have designs on challenging Gambrinus Brno for supremacy in the Czech Republic but this weekend's clash showed there is still a large gulf between the sides as Brno rolled to an 89-71 triumph.
Praha went into the game undefeated in the Zenska basketbalova liga but they were no match for Jan Bobrovsky's team, the majority of which is made up of players from his Czech national side which won the EuroBasket Women in the summer.
Praha led 33-31 midway through the second quarter but a three-pointer from USA international Delisha Milton-Jones sparked a 12-0 surge that put Brno in command for good.
Three times Praha cut the deficit to six points in the third quarter, but each time Brno had an answer. Bobrovksy's team, who got a game-high 28 points and eight rebounds from Milton-Jones, went in front by as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter and cruised.
Janell Burse had 24 points and Michaela Pavlickova poured in 20 to pace Praha.
