An inspirational triple-double performance by veteran star Dalma Ivanyi kept the hopes of Mizo Pecs 2010 alive as they overcome Wisla Can-Pack in an action packed game.
The Hungarian star produced arguably the EuroLeague Women performance of the season as she rattled off 24 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished up 10 assists much to the delight of the home crowd.
While the performance of Ivanyi will quite rightly grab the headlines, it was the restoration of the influential Anna Vajda back into the team that gave the home team the confidence to bounce straight back from their hammering in Krakow.
Pecs enjoyed a super first half, enjoying the better of the opening exchanges by firstly opening up a 24-19 lead at the end of quarter one and then building up a double-figure lead at 38-28 by the time they headed to the locker rooms at the half.
Wisla came storming back in the third period to take overhaul the hosts and take a 54-51 lead but the home team dug deep and stunned their opponents with a 15-3 start to the last quarter.
Despite the best efforts of the away side including two failed triple attempts in the dying seconds by Brazilian Iziane Castro Marques, Pecs hung on to force a third game.
Nicole Ohlde supported Ivanyi with 14 points for the winners while Marta Fernandez and Janell Burse top scored for Wisla Can-Pack with 16 points each.
