Anna Vajda went from relative obscurity to EuroLeague Women star on Tuesday with a timely 16-point effort as MiZo Pecs turned back Lietuvos Telekomas in the opening game of their quarter-final showdown.
Vajda, a Budapest-born forward/center, turned in her best performance in the competition as MiZo Pecs, the only side to beat defending champions BC Volgaburmash this season, won 79-66 over the visitors from Lithuania.
