Hungary: Ivanyi Headed Back To WNBA

Hungarian international Dalma Ivanyi is to return to the WNBA after been snapped up by San Antonio Silver Stars.

The 175 cm guard, whose impressive form this year has led MiZo-Pecsi into the FIBA EuroLeague Women Final Four.

She has averaged 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in Europe, scoring 13 in MiZo's Game Three quarter-final decider against Bourges.

Ivanyi played collegiately at Florida International and then, after being selected by the Stars in 1999 when they were based in Utah, played two seasons there.

Ivanyi also had a brief spell with the Phoenix Mercury in 2003.

"Dalma is a great pick-up for us this offseason," Silver Stars chief operating officer Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil said.

"Over the past few years, she has established herself as one of the premier players in the Europe.

"Dalma has faced some of the best players the WNBA has to offer and she consistently puts up great numbers in EuroLeague competition.

"She is also one of the most respected players in Europe; coaches and players have nothing but good things to say about her. We look forward to having her here in San Antonio."
