One of the most exciting talents and young prospects in Spanish basketball, Cristina Ouvina was handed a place by Coach Jose Hernandez in the preliminary roster after an excellent season with Mann Filter Zaragoza and will be hoping to squeeze onto the bench for EuroBasket Women 2011. Even if she doesn't make it this time, the 20 year old looks destined to play a role in future tournaments such has been her development over the last couple of seasons. A point guard who is still maturing, Ouvina may be prone to one too many turnovers at times because of her inexperience but her quickness and propensity for steals more than makes up for her exuberance with the ball. She averaged over 3 assists per game last season in EuroCup Women and can also draw on the experience of winning a host of medals for her country at youth level in both World and European Championships.
