Szolnoki Olaj kept themselves in the conversation to advance from Group J of the EuroChallenge with a comfortable 81-66 victory over winless Hapoel Holon.

James Florence led Szolnoki with 20 points on six-of-eight shooting from three-point range, while Sead Sehovic had 13 and Marton Bader 11.

Szolnoki dominated almost throughout, taking control midway through the first quarter when three straight three-pointers from Florence powered a 13-0 run that put them 24-9 up on Istvan Nemeth's jump-shot.

After Zoltan Trepak hit a three and Balazs Simon made a driving lay-up to start the second period, they were up 33-16 and in firm control.

Stifling defence held Hapoel to just seven points in the second period as the Szolnoki lead only grew, Sehovic's lay-up making it 44-23 before the half-time buzzer.

They continued to pile it on in the third period, with a 10-2 run making it 58-30 on Miklos Szabo's hook shot.

The gap was 28 again when Brandon Gay's lay-up made it 68-40 with 48 seconds left in the third period, but that would be their largest lead as Szolnoki's starters made for the bench in the final 10 minutes and Hapoel took advantage to trim the deficit.

The visitors scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter, with Shlomo Harrush's three making it 68-52.

It became a 16-1 run when Franklin Hassell hit a pair of free throws to make it 69-58 before Florence nailed a three to stem the bleeding for Szolnoki.

Hapoel would get no closer as further threes from Trepak and Florence held off their charge.

Hassell led Hapoel with 24 points and 16 rebounds while Lawrence Hill had 18.

The result moves Szolnoki to 3-2 while Hapoel are 0-5.
