Celje, Slovenia, 02 August 2013. Serbia vs. Turkey. The Serbians' first test game this summer had a special meaning for Nenad Krstic, as the captain celebrated his 100th cap with the national team. With 13 years of professional basketball under his belt, the veteran brings invaluable experience to the table, facing the task of leading a group of talented young players, not unlike EuroBasket 2009. Watching childhood hero Vlade Divac play for his home town's club KK Sloga Kraljevo, Krstic's career followed a similar path, as the then 17-year-old signed his first professional contract with Partizan Belgrade. The big man continued his career across the pond, as he joined the New Jersey Nets in 2004, making the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. After a total of seven seasons in the NBA, Krstic has found his new home in Russia, spending the past two seasons with giants CSKA Moscow. A strong presence underneath the basket and a good shooter from mid-range, the 30-year-old is still producing fine performances, appearing ready to further expand his number of caps and celebrate more jubilees with the national team.
