| 10 January 2012 EUROCHALLENGE Elan Chalon blew open a tight game in the fourth quarter and rolled to an 85-64 victory over Hungarians Szolnoki Olaj. One of the hottest teams in France and the EuroChallenge, the winners got 20 points from Blake Schilb. Abdul Aminu, who is emerging as a force in the EuroChallenge for Chalon, also had 18 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. Chalon out-rebounded Szolnoki 47-23. Despite their superiority on the boards, four straight points by Obie Trotter of Szolnoki cut the home side's lead to 54-53 at the end of the third quarter. When play resumed at the start of the fourth, youngster Joffrey Lauvergne hit a jumper for the hosts. The wheels didn't come off for the visitors until the last 6:30, though. Leading 60-57, Lauvergne dunked and Aminu then scored on an alley-oop. Chalon ended up outscoring Szolnoki 31-11 in the frame for a decisive victory. |
