Spartak St Petersburg blew open a close game midway through the fourth quarter and rolled to an 88-70 victory over Szolnoki Olaj.
The visitors from Hungary had trailed by 12 in the last period but reeled off five straight points to make it interesting.
When a three-ball from Marton Fodor fell through the hoop, Szolnoki had closed the gap to 70-64 with 5:18 left.
Spartak hit Szolnoki Olaj with an 8-0 run.
Evgeny Kolesnikov sank two free-throws, Miha Zupan buried a jumper and Smush Parker capped the spurt with two more from the charity stripe and a dunk.
Spartak ended up winning by 18 when Dijon Thompson, who had a game-high 21 points, buried a three-pointer right before the end.
Thompson also led his team with nine rebounds while Zupan, who played for Slovenia at the FIBA World Championship, ended up with 17 points.
Obie Trotter and Marton Bader had 18 points apiece in defeat.
Bader also had nine boards.
