While she didn't play in the Qualifying Round last summer, the top scorer and rebounder from EuroBasket Women 2009 is likely to be tearing things up in the paint yet again at her second major tournament for her adopted country. When the team lost Nevriye Yilmaz ahead of Latvia two years ago, much of that void was filled by the work of her Fenerbahçe teammate who delivered over 12 points and 6 rebounds per game in a really impressive effort. Nevlin is a seasoned performer who is powerful under the hoop, has a decent mid-range game, is strong on the glass and can match up well defensively with opponents. Born in Hawaii, she graduated from Stanford University and then headed to Turkey to play for Botas during her rookie pro-season. She has stayed in the Turkish League ever since, having found success during the last three campaigns with Fenerbahçe. |
