A forward who is tough to handle in the paint and a danger behind the three-point arc, Kavurmacioglu leads the team in scoring and rebounding. In addition, she also had enough poise to hit a game-winning three-pointer on the opening night of the tournament against Sweden.
Now, the 20-year old felt brave enough to answer the call of fibaeurope.com, and face its relentless Half-Court Press.
What is one basketball memory you will never forget?
It was the 2010 Fiba U17 World Championship, and we needed to win by 16 points against Russia. We were up by 13, and the last ball came to me. I missed and we got eliminated. Everybody told me it is not a problem that I missed, that you cannot become a good player if you don't shoot. It is something I will never forget.
When did you start playing?
I started playing basketball when I was.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths is rebounding, especially offensive, and three-point shooting. My weakness is my defence, and (laughing) I don't want to talk any more about this topic.
Playing on the senior national team one day and winning a medal at a future EuroBasket Women means...
Turkey has big dreams for its senior national team. We want to win a gold medal one day at a big competition. My dream is to be the main player on that team.
Who is the best European player you have seen?
Diana Taurasi. She is an American, but plays in Europe. Also, we have so many good players in Turkey, like Nevriye Yilmaz, Birsel Vardarli, Esmeral Tuncluer. They are so good.
If you were to play 3x3, which other two players would be on your team?
Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor.

What are your eating requirements as a basketball player?
I try to eat healthy. I like eating, but we have to take care of our bodies and I try to eat like a professional.
What are you going to eat when no one is looking?
Desserts. Every kind of desserts.
If the coach comes for dinner, what are you going to cook him?
I would make him kavurma.
