Fenerbahce needed overtime but finally beat winless Lattes Montpellier 90-83 on Wednesday in EuroLeague Women Group D.
The French outfit were 46 seconds away from snatching their first victory in regulation after Sheana Mosch made a lay-up for a 79-77 lead.
Fenerbahce called a timeout and when play resumed, Montpellier's Khadijah Whittington stole a pass from Tammy Sutton-Brown (14 points, six turnovers).
France international Emilie Gomis then rescued Fener.
She stole the ball from Mosch and went in for a game-tying lay-up with just 19 seconds remaining and the game ended up going to the extra period.
After Fener's Turkey national team center Nevriye Yilmaz began OT with a lay-up, Nicole Powell tipped in Esmeral Tuncluer's miss and was fouled on the play. She converted the three-point play before Tuncluer added another lay-up for an 86-79 lead.
Montpellier got no closer than six the rest of the way.
Kristen Nevlin poured in 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for Fenerbahce. Yilmaz also scored 17 while Gomis finished with 11 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals.
Tuncluer also had a fine game with 10 points, five boards, four assists and three steals but she turned the ball over five times.
Mosch led all scorers with 21 points for Montpellier but turned the ball over six times.
