Fenerbahce clinched their third success of the EuroLeague Women season with a late 73-68 Group D victory at Beretta Famila in Schio, Italy. Turkey international Esmeral Tuncluer led Fener in their road triumph with 20 points. Beretta Famila won't forget this defeat soon. They led 57-49 at the end of the third quarter but weren't able to build on the advantage. Nevertheless, after Nicole Antibes scored to take her team high in scoring to 16 points and make it 68-66 in favor of the Italian outfit with 2:19 remaining. They went ice cold the rest of the way, though, failing to score a single point and the visitors from Turkey made them pay. Tammy Sutton-Brown tied the game with a jump shot with 1:28 remaining and France international Emilie Gomis followed with a jumper to put Fener in front for good. Gomis added a three-point play to finish off the scoring for Fener (3-2), while dropping Schio to 1-4. |
