MBK Advance With Second Triumph Over Ankara



MBK Ruzomberok are in the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals after winning at Optimum Ted Ankara.

The Slovaks won their home leg of the Eighth-Final last week, 71-65, and finished Ankara off on Thursday with a 76-67 victory in Turkey.

Ruzomberok gave themselves an ideal platform for victory in the tie by outscoring Ankara 23-14 in the first quarter.

They went to half-time with a 36-25 lead - a 17-point advantage on aggregate.

Ankara gave themselves a chance of coming back in the third quarter and trailed 51-47 going to the last period.

A Demya Walker jumper closed the gap to 51-49 at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

A pair of jump shots from Kadidja Andersson settled the Ruzomberok nerves, though, and they coasted to a decisive win on aggregate.

Ruzomberok were eight of 14 from long range and 19 of 44 inside the arc.

They also did some damage at the free-throw line, making 14 of 20 attempts.

Ankara also had eight three-balls but attempted 23, while they were 25 of 65 from the floor overall.

Andersson finished with 18 points and seven rebounds while the 23-year-old power forward/center Katarina Tetemondov√° also weighed in with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Dominican shooting guard Carmen Guzman had 14 points.

Ankara were led by Walker's 15 points and nine rebounds.
