Last season's EuroCup Women semi-finalists Saarlouis Royals were subjected to a 79-77 home court loss in Group H after 26 points by Essence Carson propelled Seat Gyor to an impressive road victory.
The Royals had got off to a terrible start in the game as they found themselves 25-11 behind after the opening ten minutes but having worked their way back into the contest, they will have expected to have seen out the win.
They led 77-75 with over two minutes to go but didn't trouble the scorers again as the visitors claimed a big win in Germany.
After a terrific blowout success in Portugal on opening day last week, Lotto Young Cats headed into their home game against Ruzomberok full of confidence but the Slovak Republic team had far too much inside for the hosts.
In a real contrast of styles, the visitors muscled their way to a 69-62 success against the perimeter happy hosts with one of Europe's rising stars Klaudia Lukacovicova leading the way with 20 points and 7 rebounds.
"It was an extremely tough game," Ruzomberok coach Ivan Kurilla said.
"The team, which played in the Belgian national teams from 18 to 20 years and is accompanied by two experienced players, showed off a particularly aggressive basketball.
"Although the opponent in the end still got the lead, it was back in our hands in the final minutes."
Meanwhile there was a sense of déjà vu in France where firstly Nantes Reze racked up a big home court success over Portuguese visitors and shortly afterwards it was the turn of ESB Lille Metropole to also claim a home blowout against Portuguese opposition.
Nantes secured an 83-41 success over Vagos with hot Latvian prospect Sabine Niedola contributing 16 points and 6 rebounds while Carla Thomas registered another double-double as she claimed 21 points and 15 rebounds as Lille grounded Olivais Coimbra 85-60.
