13 January 2010

Becky Hammon is going to stay at Ros Casares at least as long as the Spanish club stays in contention for the EuroLeague Women title.

The Valencia outfit made the announcement on Wednesday ahead of their clash with Cras Basket Taranto at La Fonteta.

"Ros Casares has reached an agreement with Becky Hammon to extend her contract until the end of the season," a club statement said.

"The player will remain at the club until the end of Ros Casares' participation in the EuroLeague Women and provided her presence in the WNBA allows her to, in the Liga Femenina.

"Hammon has played in 14 games with Ros Casares, six appearances in the EuroLeague, six in the Liga Femenina and two in the Copa de la Reina."

Hammon, 32, has been one of the leaders of Russia's national team since the 2008 Olympics.

With Ros, she has averaged 9.8 points, 0.7 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals in just under 20 minutes per game in the EuroLeague.

She had been on the books of the now defunct CSKA Moscow.
