Ros Casares are celebrating, and breathing a huge sigh of relief after accomplishing their pre-season mission of reaching the EuroLeague Women Final Four.
The Valencia club stunned Fenerbahce in Istanbul with a Delisha Milton Jones basket at the end of regulation forcing overtime before prevailing, 82-80, to advance to a semi-final showdown with Bourges.
Ros Casares coach Manolo Real, who led the team to triumph in the Copa de la Reina after taking the reins of the team in mid-season, said after the 2-1 win in the quarter-final tie: "This victory has a lot of merit considering the atmosphere we have faced here.
"For some time, we had been practicing to compete at this level and when the crucial time has come, the players have been very focused.
"Their will to reach the Final Four has seen my players leave their hearts on the court. It is a dream."
Milton-Jones, who won the EuroLeague Women title last season with Gambrinus Sika Brno, had game highs in points (30) and rebounds (13).
"We are the best team in the EuroLeague, and the best on which I have played," she said.
"I feel proud to be at this club and to defend this jersey. It has been a great triumph."
