BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque suffered a 92-91 defeat to Lokomotiv Kuban on Tuesday night in the EuroChallenge Quarter-Finals that was made even more painful when players, coaches and fans had to watch emergency personnel take young center Mo Sene to the hospital with a suspected neck injury.

Fortunately for the player, examinations have indicated that he escaped serious injury.

Sene could feature for Gravelines next week if they can win on Thursday at Lokomotiv in Krasnodar and force a deciding Game 3.

Gravelines said in a statement: "Carried out by the fire brigade after last night's game, Mo Sene took a very hard hit in the second half against Lokomotiv Kuban.

"The big man from Senegal underwent a battery of exams this morning which proved to be reassuring.

"Suffering from a contusion to his cervical (vertebrae), Mo should be out of action for a few days and could even play next Wednesday if BCM can win in Russia tomorrow night.

"A tough task for (BCM coach) Christian Monschau and his crew who will be without Yannick Bokolo and Sene."

Bokolo was the MVP of the club's Semaines des As triumph and has averaged 9.1 points, 3.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game for BCM.

A member of the French national team at EuroBasket 2009 and at last year's FIBA World Championship, Bokolo has averaged more than 26 minutes per game for the club.

Bokolo picked up an injury in a March 9 game against Pau but like Sene would be available for Game 3 if BCM win on Thursday.

He has not travelled to the Krasnodar with the team.

Sene is a 2.11m pivot who has only appeared in six games yet been a force in most of them.

He is averaging 10.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

Despite making just several appearances, Sene ranks sixth in double-doubles.
