ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne sealed a miserable weak for Gravelines-Dunkerque by beating the EuroCup side 74-53 on Friday.
Gravelines, who slipped to their fourth defeat in as many European games in midweek when they lost at Dynamo Moscow Region - a setback which eliminated them from contention for the next phase of that competition - are fourth in France.
They have six wins and three defeats.
ASVEL stamped their authority on the game from the off, leading 20-10 after the opening quarter and then 41-24 at half-time.
Gravelines gave themselves a lifeline by closing the gap to 52-44 by the end of the third quarter, but ASVEL marched to victory over the final 10 minutes.
Tomislav Ruzic had 22 points to lead ASVEL, who are level with Pau Orthez at the top of the French standings with a 10-2 record.
In Friday's other game, John Linehan scored 19 points for Paris Basket Racing as they defeated Clermont 63-55.
Paris are 10th in the standings with a 5-4 record while Clermont are now 13th with just three wins and seven defeats.
