Casares, who reached the final of the EuroLeague Women last season before losing to Spartak Moscow Region in Vidnoje, were a classy outfit in the showdown.
And it did not help Dynamo that Spain national team playmaker Nuria Martinez wasn't able to play on Wednesday through injury.
"Ros Casares is strong team," Zvirgzdins said.
"They reached the final game in the EuroLeague last season.
"I'm sure that if Nuria Martinez was in the game tonight, we could have won.
"But Ros Casares won the end of the game due to their experience. Not all players of our team are ready to play at such high level."
For the Spanish, the picture is looking very rosy indeed.
After winning the Super Copa against Avenida, they have reeled off five consecutive wins in Spain and have now taken over sole possession of first place in Group D of the EuroLeague.
"Our aim is to continue with the same mentality, game by game," said coach Manolo Real.
"Next Wednesday, we play host to TEO Vilnius and that is the key game to keep ourselves in the top position in the group."
