Dynamo Moscow's Russian international Tatiana Shchegoleva scored the game's first six points to give her team a perfect launchpad for victory in the EuroLeague Women over K Cero ICP of Kosice.

The Slovakian team, who are still seeking their first win, trailed for the remainder of the contest and lost 67-52.

Slávka Frniaková led all scorers with 21 points for K Cero ICP, while Natalia Vodopiyanova had a season-high 20 for Dynamo as they won for the second time in the competition.

Shchegoleva, who finished with 14 points, is usually a fast-starter for both club and country.

She played for Russia at the EuroBasket and helped the team win a silver medal.

On Wednesday night, the center set the tone for Dynamo with a lay-up, a tap-in off a missed shot from team-mate Tammy Sutton-Brown and another lay-up in the first 80 seconds of the game.

Kelly Anne Mazzante buried a three-pointer and Tiffani Johnson scored for K Cero ICB, but Dynamo went on an 8-0 spurt to reclaim control.

A three-point play by Johnson at the start of the second half allowed the Slovakian team to close the gap to 33-32.

After Shchegoleva turned the ball over, the Kosice outfit had a chance to move in front.

They spurned the opportunity as Luisa Michulková missed two shots.

Shchegoleva immediately scored on consecutive trips down the court, including a three-point play, to put the hosts in command for good.

By the start of the final quarter, the Muscovites had built a 10-point lead and K Cero ICP never got any closer.

Dynamo preferred to attack the basket and, as a result, had more opportunities to add to their lead from the line.

They were 20 of 26 (70.9%) at the charity stripe while K Cero ICB were a mere eight of 11 (72.7%).

The home team's effectiveness was also down to its hegemony on the boards, where they outrebounded the Slovakians 42-33.
