Irina Osipova

Career: Gloria Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 1997-2001), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2001-02), UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia-Superleague, 2002-04), Elitzur Ramla (Israel-D1, 2004), CSKA Samara (Russia-Superleague, 2004), Elitzur Ramla (Israel-D1, 2004-05), Spartak Moscow Region (Russia-Superleague, 2005-07)

“L’enfant Terrible of Russian basketball”, Irina Osipova has never quite lived up to her hidden but outstanding talent. With her excellent feel for the game and her perfect size and technical skills, she has always had the tools to be a dominant center in Europe. Unfortunately, because of her questionable attitude Osipova has underachieved throughout her career. The 2006-07 season ended up being another disappointment as Osipova looked uninterested in most of Spartak’s games. However, Irina has had her moments, including scoring the decisive basket, with thirty seconds left, in the Eurobasket Women 2003 final against the Czech Republic.
