Galatasaray have confirmed the signing of USA international and two-time Olympic gold-medal winner Tamika Catchings.
The 29-year-old forward will arrive at the club soon to begin preparing for the Eighth-Final Play-offs, which get underway on February 2.
Catchings joined Lotos Gdynia last season after the Qualifying Round and nearly lifted the outfit into the Quarter-Finals after averaging 22 points, 7.7 rebounds and four steals in her three EuroLeague games.
Her Gdynia team was edged out by Fenerbahce in three play-off games, though, losing the decider in Istanbul by three points.
Galatasaray will be shorthanded when they play their last EuroLeague Women Qualifying Round game at Ros Casares in Valencia, Spain, on Wednesday.
Star center Yelena Leuchanka has not travelled with the team in order to receive treatment on a knee problem while American forward Jia Perkins has been allowed to end her contract in order to return home for an unspecified family reason.
Perkins averaged 15.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in the EuroLeague Women this season.
When Galatasaray almost upset UMMC Ekaterinburg last week, Perkins equaled her season high with 23 points on nine of 10 shooting, including a perfect two of two from behind the arc.
