Career: Istanbul Universitesi SK (Turkey-D1, 2004-06), Botas Spor Adana (Turkey-TBBL, 2006-07), Galatasaray (Turkey-TBBL, 2007-11)
Ruled out of EuroBasket Women 2009 due to an injury and having also not participated in the Qualifying Round last summer, this guard could be back on court with the National Team playing under Coach Yildizoglu who knows her well from Galatasaray. After an impressive career playing at youth level, Alben went to EuroBasket Women 2007 as a 21-year-old and played in six games while at club level, she is a EuroCup Women winner. A great rebounder due to her energetic work-rate and knack for getting good positioning under the glass, Alben brings a lot to the table defensively for Turkey. Meanwhile on offence, she can certainly dish up assists as she has shown through her career including ten assists in one game against Tarbes last season in EuroLeague Women. Alben is a real character whose potential impact should not be underestimated. |
