Gala, Aix Stay Perfect

15 November 2007
Sofia Young poured in 29 points as Galatasaray posted a 79-69 win over K.V. Imperial AEL.

Young was 12 from 17 from close range and five from seven from the charity stripe and had stalwart support from Vickie Johnson who added 15.

Andrea Gardner scored 19 points for the losers with Gala racing to a 46-34 half-time lead.

With a minute and 16 players to play, AEL had got the lead back to eight points but two free throws from Johnson ended any doubt about the outcome.

Megan Marie Mahoney top scored in vain for Lavezzini Basket who were beaten 76-66 by Pays Aix Basket.

Mahoney scored 20 points as well as hauling down eight boards while teammate Martina Rejchoca had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Kerri A. L. Gardin's heroics were in vain for CAB Madeira who were pipped 75-74 at Novia Munalux Namur.

She poured in 26 points and had nine rebounds but Namur seemed to have the game in the bag when they led 75-62.

But Catarina Abreu Freitas and Gardin launched a tremendous rally by CAB which just failed.

Extrugasa beat Sdent Sierre Basket 85-64 while MBK pipped Universite BC Neuchatel 78-76 with the Swiss side's last-quarter rally not quite enough.
