Club Estudiantes picked up another win after beating Liege Basket in mid-week, edging out Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada 69-67 behind 17 points from Marlon Garnett.

Iker Iturbe added 14 and 10 rebounds for the EuroCup participants, who continue to struggle down in 13th place.

Unicaja Malaga moved back into fourth place with a 67-65 defeat of Gran Canaria Grupo Dunas.

The visitors wasted a 20-point effort from Jackson Vroman and were eventually undone by a well balanced Malaga attack.

Also on Sunday, DKV Joventut missed the chance to go fourth after succumbing 73-64 against Pamesa Valencia.

Elsewhere, Bruesa edged past Grupo Capitol Valladolid 75-71, rock bottom side Vive Menorca won 85-79 at Etosa Alicante while Polaris World CB Murcia overcame Caja San Fernando 89-81.

The top three all played on Saturday.

The buzz from Akasvayu Girona's EuroCup win over Virtus Bologna did not last long as they lost 72-64 to local rivals Winterthur FC Barcelona in Liga ACB action on Sunday.

Bootsy Thornton's 23 points were not enough for the third-placed side as Spain international Juan Carlos Navarro scored 20 to lead Barca.

Leaders Real Madrid defeated Lagun Aro Bilbao Basket 79-75 while second-placed Tau Ceramica were beaten 83-81 at CB Granada.
