Estudiantes booked their place in the semi-finals of the EuroCup as they completed victory over Dynamo Moscow Region with a 78-74 win on Friday.

Having come from behind to win in Tuesday's opening game of the tie, they had to do it again after Dynamo raced into a 30-15 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Estu started the second quarter on an 18-3 run that tied the game up at 33-33, but just as soon as they had done that, Dynamo moved through the gears again and the hosts were 40-34 ahead at half-time. Estu responded once more and took the lead for good when McDonald scored on an alley-oop - set up by Hernan Emilio Jasen - to make it 43-42 with 7:18 left in the third quarter.

They had an eight-point lead when Goran Nikolic made a lay-up with 6:10, but back-to-back three-pointers from Giedrius Gustas and Roderick Blakney - either side of a lay-up from Jasen - closed the gap to four, 72-68, with 1:48 left to play. Nikolai Padius then twice split pairs of free throws to make the score 72-70 with 1:09 on the clock. But the meltdown was averted for Estu as Marlon Garnett and Iker Iturbe each made a free throw to stretch the lead back out. Blakney cut it to two again with a lay-up 16 seconds from time, but they got no closer as Iturbe split a pair of free throws and Garnett scored the final points of the game with two more from the charity stripe.

Garnett finished with 22 points for Estu while William McDonald - who has a team-high average of 14.9 points per game - also got in double figures, adding 12 despite getting himself in foul trouble. Blakney and Padius had 14 points each for Dynamo with Gustas adding 11. Fedor Likholitov added nine and 12 rebounds.
