Mariano De Pablos will look to make it two wins out of two as coach of Estudiantes when his side welcome Caja San Fernando to the Spanish capital in the 21st round of ACB matches.
De Pablos took over the reins from Pedro Martinez last week with Estu floundering near the foot of the ACB standings, and in his first game in charge promptly led the team to a 95-70 mauling of BC Siauliai in the EuroCup on Tuesday.
However, Estu's consistently impressive performances in the EuroCup this season have not been reflected in their domestic displays, and De Pablos knows the hard work has only just begun for him.
Martinez's dismissal came following a run of 10 defeats in 11 ACB matches, and De Pablos will lead Estu into battle this weekend with his team in the bottom four with a 7-13 record.
Estu forward Carlos Suarez has called on the club's supporters to turn out in force for the home clash with Caja San Fernando.
"It is a very important game, although I think that the one we played in Valladolid was more so," said Suarez, referring to the 83-78 defeat at second-bottom Grupo Capitol Valladolid, which proved to be Martinez's final game in charge.
"But we would like to receive the best possible support, and that the Telefonica Arena is filled.
"For us it is much easier to play with a full house, because you feel surrounded. And if we manage to create a great atmosphere, the home games are not going to slip away from us."
Caja San Fernando go into the match in eighth spot with an 11-9 record, and in Demetrius Alexander and Hollis Price have two players Suarez admits Estu will need to pay close attention to.
"I think that they are two dangerous players. One because they are a reference in attack, and the other because they make the team play," Suarez said on his club's website.
"We have to worry about ourselves just the same though, and we have to be a team, irrespective of our opponents."
Estu's fellow EuroCup participants Akasvayu Girona are also at home this weekend as they take on struggling Valladolid.
Although they fell at the first hurdle in last weekend's Copa del Rey, Akasvayu bounced back in style with a 117-83 thrashing of JDA Dijon in the EuroCup on Wednesday.
Winterthur FC Barcelona, who downed arch-rivals Real Madrid in the final to win the Copa del Rey, are at home to Etosa Alicante on Sunday, while Madrid must return to the scene of last weekend's cup heartbreak as they take on Unicaja Malaga.
Madrid are still top of the ACB table with an 18-2 record, and they will remain clear whatever happens at Malaga as second-placed Tau Ceramica, who are at home to Pamesa Valencia, are currently two games behind.
In other games, Copa del Rey semi-finalists DKV Joventut are at bottom club ViveMenorca, Lagun Aro Bilbao Basket host Bruesa GBC, Gran Canaria Grupo Dunas go to Polaris World CB Murcia, and CB Granada are at home to Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada.
