Talk of a possible ACB play-off spot is a big no-no for Estudiantes point guard Gonzalo Martinez at this point in time, despite the Madrid-based side's barnstorming run up the league table.

Estu have won seven successive ACB matches since new coach Mariano De Pablos replaced Pedro Martinez in February, having previously lost 10 of 11 outings to drop into the bottom four of the standings.

Estu's current run of form has seen them climb to the cusp of the play-off spots, and if they beat Bruesa GBC on Monday night then they will join Pamesa Valencia (seventh) and Unicaja Malaga (eighth) on 15-13 records.

With the EuroCup Final Four coming up this weekend in Girona, Estu have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks, but Martinez insists they need to take it all one step at a time.

"Until now we have been going very well treating each game like a final and we must continue doing that until the end," he said on his club's website.

"If we start looking at the play-offs then that could begin to put us off the game at hand. That would be a serious error.

"These seven consecutive victories are a sign that we are working well," he added.

"As well as that, each victory, without becoming over-confident, is boosting our morale and making the team tougher mentally for the coming games.

"All the consecutive victories that we have accumulated have helped us to believe in what we are doing and to try and win the upcoming games."

Estu play Spanish rivals Akasvayu Girona in the Final Four of the EuroCup on Friday, with Virtus Bologna and Azovmash meeting in the other semi.

After that, Estu will have six ACB games left in which to finish in the top eight and claim a play-off spot.
