Learning Experience For Estudiantes, De Pablos

14.04.2007

It has been a magical ride since 32-year old Mariano de Pablos took over Estudiantes.

The club had been mired in a season-long slump, but following de Pablos’ appointment, the Madrid-based side ran of a string of 11 consecutive wins prior to Friday’s tilt with Girona.

That run came to an abrupt end following Estudiantes’ 89-58 setback to Girona.

“Girona and Pesic taught us a basketball lesson this evening,” said de Pablos.

“I personally got a lesson tonight. I learned a lot from this game.”

“Basketball is a game of peaks and valleys,” summarized forward Marlon Garnett.

“It’s been a good run and we are not getting let this keep us down. We are going to try to come out on Sunday and try to start a new streak that will hopefully get us ready for the ACB playoffs.”

“Tonight I tip my hat off to Girona. They played an awesome game.”
