Marjorie Carpreaux

Career: Novia Namur (Belgium-D1, 2003-2005), Dexia Namur (Belgium-D1, 2005-08)

Last summer was a key point in the career of Carpreaux, who was a revelation at the U20 European Championship for Women in Sopron, Hungary. With an average of 14.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game, Marjorie Carpréaux lead the Belgian team to a fifth-place finish which qualified them for the U21 World Championship in Moscow this summer.  It’s the first time in Belgium’s history that a national team, men or women, will play in the final round of a World Championship. Using her quickness, the 1.65 meter Boussu native has developed a spectacular game that is a joy to watch.  Following the U20 Championships, the 19-year-old point guard followed up her performance with the senior national team, averaging 7.5 points, 8.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game in four EuroBasket Women qualifying contests. She was Belgium’s third-best scorer behind only Ann Wauters and Kathy Wambe.
