Besiktas JK edged an 81-80 thriller in EuroCup Women Group F on Thursday night against Chevakata.
The game was close from beginning to end.
Trailing 76-73 after Elena Kharchenko tipped in a missed shot by her Chevakata teammate Daria Ezhova, Sandra Mandir split two free-throws for Besiktas.
Gergana Branzova-Erdenay then followed with a three-point play to put the Turkish team in front.
The contest remained tight.
Mandir followed with two free-throws, and then Kharchenko made two for Chevakata to close the gap to 79-78.
Mandir buried two more for an 81-78 Besiktas lead with 15 seconds to go.
The Russian club had a chance to tie the game but Irina Sokolovskaya was off target with a three-ball.
Kharchenko made one last basket inside at the death for Chevakata to leave Besiktas with an 81-80 win.
Branzova-Erdenay finished with 17 points and eight rebounds while Kharchenko walked off the court with 19 points and 10 boards.
Besiktas improved to 3-1 and clinched a spot in the next phase of the competition while Chevakata slumped to 0-4.
Botas edge Nadezhda
Turkey beat Russia in a Group I battle as well with Botas Spor prevailing 87-80 over Nadezhda.
Sharnee Zoll was a one-woman wrecking crew with 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds for Botas Spor, who made 13 of 27 shots from long range.
Five other Botas Spor players hit double figures in points.
Belarus international Anastasiya Veremeenko finished with 14 points and 12 boards in defeat.
Both sides are now 2-1.
USOMV roll over Vagos
USO Mondeville had no trouble winning on the road in Portugal, thrashing Vagos 86-52 in Group A.
Valeriya Berezhynska had an impressive night with 20 points and 12 rebounds for the visitors.
Dexia get home win against Medvescak
In Group B, Dexia Namur claimed a 72-62 victory over ZKK Medvescak.
Romina Ciappina had 28 points for the winners, who improved to 2-2 in Group B while dropped the Zagreb club to 1-3.
