If he wasn’t a basketball player he could be a great opponent for Gary Kasparov! The Russian born center who came to Greece at the age of 15 years old is a great chess player. Nobody until now managed to beat him as “Lazos” is a very intelligent person. Don’t think that he is a boring college “nerd”, Lazaros is a great guy, full of humour. He played basketball because he was too tall to swim (his other great love) and has made great progress these past years. His appearances at the Olympic Games tournament (12,4 points and 5,9 rebs per game) showed his great talent. Has great moves in the paint, is not afraid of the opponent (Tim Duncan will remember for years the “in your face” dunk during the Olympic Games) and will be a starter for Greece in Belgrade. |
