Coudray Frets Over USVO Form

22.01.2008

US Valenciennes coach Herve Coudray is frustrated by his team's inconsistent performances of late.

Last week in the EuroLeague Women, USVO came from behind to beat Kosit 2013 but they followed that up with a 65-64 defeat at Reims in the French top flight at the weekend.

"I really feel as though my team needs to have a knife under its throat, such as was the situation we faced at Kosice in order to react," he said.

"Against Reims, we lacked aggressiveness, enthusiasm and continuity.

"The problem is to know what to do to resolve our problems."

Coach Hervé Coudray is nervous about his team's lack of consistency.

Coudray's team will be under a lot of pressure in the EuroLeague Women this week.

They go into their game at defending champions Spartak Moscow Region with four wins and five defeats in the competition and in fourth place in Group C.

Coudray knows there is a delicate balance between being hard on his players, but not too hard.

"If I put too much pressure on the players, it could only increase hesitation," he said. "We will have to work extremely hard ahead of our next game."

It is a very big week for the French teams in the EuroLeague Women.

Bourges take on Wisla Can-Pack Krakow in a battle for second place in Group B while ESB Lille Metropole are hoping to win at home against Fenerbahce.

That would give them a chance to leapfrog TTT Riga, who are in fourth place going into their final Group A clash against Phard Napoli.

Both Riga and ESB Lille are 3-6.

USO Basket (2-7) are in fifth place and they host Germano Zama Faenza with TEO Vilnius (3-6), who occupy fourth spot, traveling to Dynamo Moscow.
