USVO Valenciennes coach Laurent Buffard believes his team's defeat of Gambrinus Brno proves they can compete with the best in Europe this season.
USVO gave their chances of qualifying for the Eighth-Final Play-Offs a massive shot in the arm on Wednesday night by beating the reigning European champions 72-66 at home.
It put them on a 2-7 record - a win ahead of bottom-of-the-table rivals Lotos Gydnia - and will have given them confidence ahead of their last group game, against UMMC Ekaterinburg next Wednesday.
Buffard feels his players should be ecstatic about seeing off one of Europe's finest.
"If we are capable of beating Brno, we can beat other great teams," he said.
"We have still got a lot of work to do, but we can have a great end to the season."
Sandrine Gruda starred for the hosts with 20 points, while fellow post player Slobodanka Tuvic (10 points and 14 rebounds) also impressed.
