US Valenciennes star Sandra Le Drean called her side's comeback victory over rivals Bourges the perfect "rehearsal" for their forthcoming EuroLeague Women showdown with Gambrinus Sika Brno.
Le Drean & Co trailed by eight points with three minutes to play in the third quarter but continued to fight and ultimately posted a 74-64 triumph to build confidence ahead of their Final Four clash on March 31 in Brno.
"We could not dream of a better rehearsal for the Final Four," said Le Drean, who is also a key member of France's national team.
"On the collective side, we completed a strong and convincing performance."
Gambrinus will have taken notice of the victory because Bourges almost beat them in their best-of-three quarter-final.
"Valenciennes are a great team," said Bourges coach Pierre Vincent.
"They've got pride and when they are behind, they react.
"We also lost control of Harrower on defense and by doing that, we made ourselves far more fragile."
USVO beat Gdynia in the EuroLeague Women finals in 2002 and 2004.
USVO went a game clear at the top in France but Bourges have not given up hope of winning the domestic title.
Their small forward Cathy Melain said: "Valenciennes won but they have not taken any psychological advantage on us."
Third placed USO Mondeville defeated Nice 73-51 in their game on Saturday.
