Cedric Ferchaud

Career: Cholet Basket (France-Pro A, 1997-99), Prissé-Mâcon (France-Div. 3, 1999-2000), Mulhouse BC (France-Pro B, 2000-02), Cholet Basket (France-Pro A, 2002-06), Pau-Orthez (France-Pro A, 2006-07).

Could Claude Bereaud be crazy enough to select Ferchaud over a four-year NBA player like Pietrus?  The answer is, surprisingly, yes.  The National Team coach still has nightmares about his team’s poor shooting at the World Championship and Pietrus was a big part of that slump.  And so he may select Ferchaud, a player who has never received so much as a sniff from the NBA and can be a bit of a liability on defense. But he is a talented and consistent three-point shooter (40.3 % for his club side).  If Coach Bergeaud is looking for a 12th man off the bench who can shoot opponents out of a zone defense, then Ferchaud may be his man.
