U18 WOMEN DIVISION C
|Joelle Grech and Gibraltar will face Malta in the semi-finals|
After three days of action, the semi-final line-up has been set the U18 European Championship Women Division C in Andorra.
And, it's the proud hosts who finished top of the pile after the conclusion of the First Round, with three wins from three games, which means they will line up against the still winless Wales in the last four.
In the battle of the unbeaten teams on day three, Andorra stamped their authority on proceedings against Malta with a complete defensive lockdown, to emerge with a 43-20 success.
Andorra completely smothered Malta, who despite starting off their tournament with two wins, shot a nightmare 12.8% from the floor and didn't manage a single point during a barren third quarter, when the game slipped away as they were outscored 15-0.
Claudia Brunet was the player who really shone brightly for Andorra, pouring in 19 points from six-of-eight floor shooting.
Having lost the game, Malta will face Gibraltar in the semi-finals after they snatched a first victory at the third attempt with a 47-37 victory against Wales.
In a game of two halves, Wales dominated the opening twenty minutes and found themselves with a healthy double-digit lead at 21-11 sat in the locker rooms and had led by as many as 13 points.
However, Gibraltar came out firing at the start of the third quarter with a powerful run and once they tied the game up and moved ahead, they never looked back.
Joanna Thomas starred for Wales with a phenomenal 22 rebounds, whilst for the winning team, Jamie Prescott added 18 boards and Lydia Quadrassi had a fine nine steals.
