DKV Joventut warmed up for the second leg of their EuroCup quarter-final play-off with Lokomotiv Rostov by beating Akasvayu Girona 89-71 in the Liga ACB on Sunday.
Having easily disposed of the Russians 88-54 in the first leg, DKV will be confident of repeating the dose on Tuesday and they will go into the game in good heart following a convincing victory over their Liga rivals.
Lubos Barton was the star of the show for DKV, the giant Czech claiming 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists, while he was assisted by Alex Mumbru (17 points and nine rebounds).
DKV, who are now fifth, and Akasvayu have the same 13-8 record but they have their work cut out catching the top four, who all won on Sunday.
Winterthur FC Barcelona consolidated their position at the top with a 77-73 victory over Caja San Fernando, with Denis Marconato scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the leaders.
Second-placed TAU Ceramica saw off Pamesa Valencia 87-79 while third-placed Unicaja beat Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada 77-68 in a low-scoring match.
Elsewhere, Gran Canaria defeated Real Madrid 83-68, CB Granada thrashed Llanera Menorca 109-71, Ricoh Manresa lost 70-63 to Leche Rio and Forum Valladolid beat Etosa Alicante 83-73. |
