DKV Joventut and Gran Canaria kept up their assault on honours in the ACB with victories on Saturday while Copa del Rey winners Tau Ceramica prevailed thanks to a last-second three-pointer from Serkan Erdogan at Leche Rio Breogan.
DKV won 89-79 at Forum Valladolid to improve to 17 victories and eight defeats on the campaign.
Alex Mumbru had 20 points, Lubos Barton 18 and Rudy Fernandez 17 for DKV, who are taking part in the EuroCup Final Four at the beginning of next month.
The game was level at 49-49 before Mumbru sank a pair of free throws to give DKV the lead at half-time.
The visitors' veteran point guard Elmer Bennett started the second half with a three-point play to and DKV reeled off the first eight points of the third quarter to lead 59-49 and to take command for good.
The Badalona outfit have now won six consecutive games in the ACB.
They are fourth in the standings - just a single win behind pace setters Unicaja Malaga (18-6) and Winterthur Barcelona (18-6), who both play on Sunday, and Tau (18-7).
Gran Canaria's Senegal center Sitapha Savane had 19 points and six rebounds as the Canary Islanders won 79-76 at Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada.
Turkish international Serkan Erdogan's three-pointer at the death secured a 79-76 win for Tau at Leche Rio, while Adecco Estudiantes won 83-75 over Ricoh Manresa. |
