DKV Joventut kept up their assault on honours in the ACB with a 91-78 triumph at Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada but they lost guard Rudy Fernandez to a thigh injury.
The Spanish international, a key player in DKV's run to the EuroCup Final Four, had 12 points and four rebounds before getting hurt and heading for the changing room.
DKV are hoping Fernandez recovers in time for next week's game against Adecco Estudiantes.
As for Sunday's victory, Elmer Bennett had 23 points and Alex Mumbru 18 as DKV won in the ACB for the fourth game running.
They are 15-8 and alone in fourth place behind Tau Ceramica, Unicaja Malaga and Winterthur Barcelona, all of who are 17-6.
DKV jumped out to a 44-31 lead at half-time and though a basket from Francesc Solana pulled Fuenlabrada to with 48-41 midway through the third quarter, Benett responded with one of his five three-pointers for a 10-point advantage.
The visitors never looked back.
Bennett was sensational, burying five of seven (71%) and making eight of 10 shots overall from the floor.
In the EuroCup Final Four, DKV take on hosts BC Kyiv on April 7. |
