Only 28, but with vast experience of playing professional basketball since turning 15, Ukic has already been with the national team for an entire decade. A great ball-handler who thrives penetrating to the hoop, hopes to be fully healthy in the national team uniform for the first time since 2009. After playing injured at the 2010 FIBA World Championship, and sitting out EuroBasket 2011 due to injury, Ukic embraced the leadership role last summer in Croatia's unbeaten Qualification Rounds campaign. A top European prospect during his teenage years, the point guard learned his trade in the NBA, as well as in European powerhouses like Tau Ceramica, FC Barcelona, Fenerbahce Ulker and his current team Panathinaikos, which he helped win the Greek title last season. With his unquestionable desire, and love for the game, Ukic is ready to captain Croatia at his fourth EuroBasket.
