Virtus BolognaFiere bossed the last 12 minutes and claimed a 93-77 win over Galatasaray Café Crown in EuroChallenge Top 16 Group J on Wednesday night.
Matteo Boniciolli's team bounced back from Sunday's Coppa Italia final heartbreak against Montepaschi Siena to improve to 3-1 in Group J while dropping Turkish giants Gala to 1-3.
Virtus are level with BC Kyiv at the top of the pool although the Italians are in first place by virtue of their 68-64 triumph over the Ukrainians on February 11.
The Bologna outfit lost to Montepaschi by just one point in the Coppa Italia and they looked to be suffering with a hangover from that defeat when they trailed 26-17 to Gala at the end of the first quarter.
Cemal Nalga had eight points in that impressive opening frame for the visitors.
Guilherme Giovannoni started a 9-0 with a three-ball at the beginning of the second quarter for Virtus, however, as they knotted the game at 26-26.
Milan Gurovic drilled a three-pointer and Nalga dunked as Galatasaray went back in front by five, only for Ntousan Tsalikis-Vouktsevits lay-ups to come at the start and finish of an 8-0 run that saw Virtus seize a 34-31 lead.
Gurovic tied the game with a shot from behind the arc before Reshawn Terry and the home side took command.
Following a Guilherme lay-up, Terry scored seven straight points for a 43-34 advantage.
Gurovic was fouled in the act of making a three-ball and went to the line to successfully convert a four-point play and he added another shot from behind the arc for 18 first-half points but the Italians went to the break on top at 46-41 with Terry's 12 points leading the way.
Virtus kept their noses in front in the third quarter although Galatasaray stayed within striking distance.
A Hüseyin Besok lay-up cut the hosts' lead to 64-60 with 2:00 to go in the third quarter.
Virtus responded with a 10-0 spurt over the next 2:41 that put them in control for good at 74-60.
The closest Galatasaray got the rest of the way was 76-66 with 6:03 to go.
Guilherme's 16 points led a balanced Virtus scoring attack while Gurovic poured in a game-high 24 in defeat.
The former Serbia captain hit five three-pointers for Galatasaray, who had 19 turnovers to just 11 for Virtus.
Alex Righetti, Earl Boykins and Roberto Chiacig each had two steals for the winners.
Virtus finished 29 of 46 (63%) inside the arc compared to Galatasaray's 14 of 29 (48.2%).
