Sam Van Rossom had a injury scare while playing for Belgium on their visit to the United States.
The Belgians crossed the Atlantic at beginning of August to train for the EuroBasket and to play several friendly games and in a clash against a team of NBA players currently without a team, the 1.88m guard banged his head while guarding an opponent.
"It happened while I was defending hard," he said.
"I suffered a hard knock on the head and I ended up with a concussion.
"Thankfully, it was nothing serious but I have been resting for four days, having headaches and taking medication."
Belgium will be hoping that Van Rossom, who was 18 when he made his national team debut, does resume basketball activities soon because he competes in Spain's ACB with CAI Zaragoza.
That experience against some of Europe's leading players is invaluable.
"In the past two years we have managed to create a new basketball atmosphere in our country and there is more motivation," Van Rossom said.
"Now I hope that we get good results because our fans expect a little bit more from the national team, but we should not see this as an added pressure - it's on the contrary."
The EuroBasket tips off on August 31 and Belgium, who are in Group D, will go up against Georgia in their opener.
