Choral Roanne will be without a couple of important players for the EuroChallenge Final Four.
High-scoring Ralph Mims broke his finger in training last week and is to be sidelined for 45 days, and Marc Antoine Pellin is carrying some knocks and won't be able to help for the rest of the season.
The club has signed Mamoutou Diarra, a former player at Angelico Biella in Italy's Lega A.
The loss of Mims will be especially hard to overcome.
The 24-year-old shooting guard averaged 16.2 points per game in the EuroChallenge. He drilled an eye-popping 47.3% (44 of 93) shots from long range.
Roanne take on hosts BG Göttingen in the EuroChallenge Final Four on April 30.
Taylor Rochestie has additional reason to be confident ahead of the EuroChallenge Final Four after being voted as the Newcomer of the Year in the Beko BBL.
The 24-year-old guard, who averaged nearly 13.9 points in 24.7 minutes per contest for the Violets in the EuroChallenge, poured in 14.93 in Germany's top flight.
A former standout at Washington State in American college basketball's Pac-10, Rochestie paid tribute to his teammates.
"For anyone who receives an individual award, there is always a team that plays successfully," he said.
"I am very grateful for the situation that I find myself in here in Göttingen.
"I would like to thank the coaches and my teammates. Without them I would not get this award."
The 18 coaches, and selected media representatives, cast votes for the award.
Robin Benzing, the 21-year-old small forward of Ulm who played for Germany last summer at the EuroBasket, was second in the voting and Bonn's Bryce Taylor was third.
