Stratos Perperoglou resembles a quiet engine that works in the background to fuel the big stars of the game. The 29-year-old forward fits perfectly into the role of the supporting cast on teams with ambitious plans and a winning mentality because he is reliable, dependable and will always give 100% of his abilities to enable the players who usually steal the spotlight to do their job better. He has performed this function at club level and in the two major tournaments he has participated in with the national team in the past. The only surprising move in his otherwise entirely linear career came last summer, when he left Panathinaikos, crossed town and joined arch-rivals Olympiacos. True to form, he produced two of his best displays of the season at the Euroleague Final Four and helped the Piraeus side retain their title, while adding a third to his personal trophy case.
