Russia and Montenegro will sign off their participation at the U20 European Championship Men 2010 by trying to claim fifth place on the final day of action after they claimed wins against Serbia and Ukraine.
A stunning 30 points from Vladimir Mihailovic and a blistering 20-6 opening quarter helped Montenegro put a tired looking Ukraine to the sword by 84-61.
Russia had to work a little bit harder to see off Serbia who still looked to be in a state of shock after their dramatic quarter-final loss against Croatia.
Russia took full advantage of their hangover and claimed a 92-80 win with Aleksandr Karpukhin claiming a game high 22 points while Vladimir Ivlev harvested yet another double-double after recording 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The final curtain fell on the participation of Lithuania, Italy, Slovenia and Latvia as four places were decided. Lithuania took ninth spot after they overcome a double digit deficit to win a nail-biter 74-73 against Italy. Giedrius Staniulis had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds for Lithuania while Alessandro Gentile claimed 19 points for the losing team.
Latvia pipped Slovenia for eleventh place after 22 points from Martins Laksa helped his side claim a hard fought 76-73 success while Edo Muric signed off his tournament with 19 points including three triples.
