Pozzecco shot first and hit once again for 18 in the final round.

After four racks, Stevenson had 15 points. He hit on two of four shots in the final rack to bring his total to 17.

His final and fifth shot, worth two points and was for the win, touched nothing but the bottom of the net.

“I knew I was close and when I came to the final rack I knew I had a chance to get 18 or more,” Stevenson said.

Stevenson kept his hand extended as his final shot was released and then celebrated his three-point shootout victory with teammates.

“I knew when the final shot left my hand it was good,” Stevenson said.

“My wife told me that I would win it before we got here, so I am happy to make her prediction come true.”

Damir Mrsic finished with 14 points in the first round, while Glenn McGowan hit for 16.

The shootout also included two local Cypriot players: George Anastasiades of Keravnos and Christos Spirou of EKA AEL.
