After 10 days of competition, Antoine Diot was elected MVP of the Termosteps U16 European Championship in Leon, Spain.
It was a bittersweet award for the 16-year old Diot, whose side suffered a 55-61 reverse at the hands of Turkey in the gold medal game.
Nonetheless, if it wasn't for Diot, France probably wouldn't have had the chance to compete for a medal at all.
The 187 cm guard was a tour de force for France, averaging 21.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 4.1 spg in his 8 games.
A super athlete, Diot had a huge impact on the defensive end, and his athletic ability allowed him to lead his team in both rebounding and steals.
More of a shooting guard than a playmaker, Diot's main weapon at the offensive end was his quickness, which he used to attack the basket whenever possible.
He also came up big in the clutch, leading France to close victories over Croatia, Latvia and Serbia & Montenegro.
